Agri-holidays in the UK and Ireland - stay on a farm

Agri holidays are popular on the Continent. They're essentially what we call farmstays in the UK. Generally farm accommodation has been converted to self catering cottage and apartments or occasionally a farmhouse for visitors to rent on a weekly basis. It allows visitors to rent good quality accommodation in a rural setting and sometimes participate in the life of the farm and hopefully in its produce.

In the UK, Farmer's wives quite often prepare freshly home cooked food that you can enjoy in your own cottage, or have a rather nice welcome hamper of local produce ready on arrival.  Could there be anything better than eggs fresh from the farm?

Some of the farms will be arable, others will have livestock, which children can sometimes help feed the animals, or may be mixed.

This rustic barn conversion sleeps 10 people in the heart of Herefordshire countryside

This barn conversion enjoys a delightful location in a pretty valley near a river. Could there be anything more idyllic?  What's more the village of Ewyas Harold village with its shop, butchers and pubs is an easy drive away of less than a mile. The farm offers cross country horse riding from March to October, weather permitting.
