If you are one of those people who like to eat out as well as in whilst on a self-catering break then a stay at Guthrie Court at Gleneagles Village may be the best choice for you. Located right next to Gleneagles Hotel and Golf Resort, here you can enjoy the benefits of the privacy and extra space that staying a self-catering apartment affords with all the convenience of being just a short stroll away from an excellent hotel. This is a great part of the country for keen golfers as there is a large number of golf courses within an hour’s drive including the world renowned Gleneagles. Also within relatively easy reach are Carnoustie, Blairgowrie and St Andrews. If visiting Gleneagles or St Andrews, remember to book ahead in order to be assured that you will be able to play on these championship courses. Other sports available locally include shooting and fishing.

Good comfortable holiday cottages in the Highlands

 About halfway between Oban and Pitlochry, two secluded cottages, The Steading and Heather Cottage, are located in peaceful and heavenly countryside at Wester Lix. The Steading will accommodate groups of 8-12 in 4 bedrooms and Heather Cottage 6-8 in 3 bedrooms. Both cottages may be hired together to exclusively accommodate a group of up to 20 which is ideal for family or friend gatherings.

A Tipi is available to guests booking a cottage or to hire separately. Your hosts David and Gill will be delighted to help you with enquiries about local activities and events.  

The central but rural and secluded location of the cottages gives you the choice of an away-from-it-all holiday or the possibility of walking and exploring the countryside and tourist attractions of Scotland.

Royal Deeside - Log Cabins in Grampian

Our comfortable self-catering log cabins are set in the centre of Royal Deeside at the Eastern Gateway to the Cairngorms National Park.

Located in the wee rustic village of Dinnet, our Woodland Lodges make a convenient base to visit and explore the many sporting and tourist activities Royal Deeside has to offer.

Outdoor activities include bird watching, fishing, walking, gliding, shooting, quad biking, archery, go-carting, mountain climbing, skiing (Glenshee and the Lecht for skiing and fabulous views are only a 45 minute drive away).

Visitor attractions in this north east part of Scotland include Balmoral Castle (10 miles away), the Castle trail, Whisky Trail for a range of distilleries to tour and whiskies to sample, Victorian Heritage Trail, Aberdeen City and the Coast, Cairngorm National Park with plenty of opportunities for bird spotting including eagles and other birds of prey .....

Each lodge has 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 4 people. They have fully fitted kitchen including integrated dishwasher and fridge freezer. The lodges are double glazed and centrally heated making them a cosy retreat after a day out on Royal Deeside.
