This fantastic collection of cottages is set in the Stour Valley within 22 acres of countryside.  There are eight cottages in total here and at all you can be assured of  high quality accommodation.  There are cottages for two, ideal for romantic breaks and larger cottages to sleep 4, 6 or 8 for larger families.  A number of the properties are pet-friendly.  Gladwin’s farm is located around 4 miles north of Colchester, around 40 miles from Stansted Airport. 

Guests staying at Gladwins Farm benefit from use of some excellent leisure facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool and sauna.  There is also a tennis court as well as woodland walks.  This is also a great place for children with a play barn and outdoor play area.  There are also a range of animals that all the family can meet.

Gladwins farm is a great place to return to after a day out exploring Constable Country.  This is a wonderful, unspoilt, naturally beautiful part of England, well worth discovering.  Constable’s Country is an area of outstanding natural beauty which boasts beautiful landscapes, elegant wool towns and fine historical buildings.   Discover picture perfect villages such as Kersey and Lavenham with their splendid colourful cottages and timber clad buildings, National Trust properties as well as Minsmere RSPB’s nature reserve. 

With a stay at one of these cottages you can even easily visit London for day trips.  With a good train service from Colchester, you can be in the city in around an hour but in many ways can feel a world away nestled in the beautiful English countryside. 

 
These well-equipped cottages each sleep 4 and are comfortable places to stay.  Located in the Thaxted, these barn conversions offer views of nearby meadowlands and ample car parking.  This is a lovely part of Essex and with your own private patio, fantastic sunsets can often be seen, although cannot be guaranteed.  

Another great place to spend time is in the peaceful small orchard where you can take time out and relax with a good book.  Enjoy looking out towards Thaxted’s historical church and windmill.
