It can be such a treat to feel the warm glow of a woodburner on holiday in Yorkshire. Make sure that you rent a cottage that has a woodburner and logs supplied so that you can have cosy nights in after exploring Yorkshire all day, especially if your cottage is in the countryside.

Often, a starter pack of logs is supplied and guests then have to purchase additional logs. Most of the time, that initial basket of logs suffices for a week.

The trick is to have a fire made up but not lit before you leave your holiday accommodation in the morning. All you have to do is to light it on your return and your Yorkshire cottage will be as cosy as can be when you rest.

Yorkshire is superb for a self-catering break at any time of year, the scenery of the Dales and Moors is magnificent and there is a multitude of fabulous villages to visit. Everyone is familiar with the old favourites such as Harrogate, York, Haworth and Whitby but there are so many other hugely interesting places to discover.

We love Yorkshire, so do find a cottage with a woodburner and rent it to have an amazing holiday in the north of England.
