The Holiday Home: About Field House
If you are looking for a 3 bedroom good value holiday home in Derbyshire then Field house may be the answer. This red brick 3 bedroom traditional family home is situated in the village of Swanwick on the east side of Derbyshire. Matlock and the Peak District National Park under 10 miles away for days out. This holiday home offers comfortable accommodation of an older style, but it is good quality and would appeal to a certain generation. The house is carpeted throughout excluding the kitchen and bathroom. The patterned Axminster carpets take you back to that era if you remember it.Large contemporary style sofas and an easy chair stand on either side of the fireplace in the sitting room. This is a nicely proportioned room with attractive curtains, a large mirror over the fireplace and a television in the corner.
A second smaller sitting room, a snuggery, is also furnished with a television, bookshelves, a sofa and an arm chair. It is always useful to have a second sitting room which allows a choice of television viewing or just somewhere quiet to relax in away from noisy children. A round dining table and six chairs that have seat pads for comfort are in a separate dining room. The Shaker-style kitchen has a gas hob, an electric oven, and smart matching complement of white kettle, toaster and microwave. A small table with chairs stands adjacent to a wall and provides additional worktop space or somewhere to sit and eat snacks or breakfast.
The ground floor includes a cloakroom with fitted furniture and wash basin and WC. Carpeted stairs lead up to the three bedrooms.
All of the bedrooms our good size and are fully carpeted. The main bedroom has a king size bed and and en-suite shower room with a double shower and a heated towel rail. The second contains a double divan bed and a padded headboard. The third bedroom is a twin with 2 pine single beds and a dressing table.
Nicely maintained gardens of lawn and shrubs are at the back and front of this holiday home. A summer house stands in the back garden and there is a rotary dryer for washing. There are plenty of parking spaces on the driveway beside the front garden.
The village of Swanwick has a pub and a village shop. There are plenty of larger towns not too far away where you could stop stock up on groceries at the supermarket, such as Ripley.
Apart from the Peak District, which would undoubtedly be the main attraction, there are several other places to visit such as Denby Pottery Village, two soft play centres, a designer shopping village and National Trust Hardwick Hall. This location on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire offers numerous parks, golf courses and shopping opportunities. Ripley has a regular giant car boot sale if you enjoy bargain hunting.
This holiday home ensures comfortable accommodation as a base and then it’s up to you to plan a series of places to visit and activities that you and your family would enjoy. The money that you save by staying here would buy a few nice meals out and experiences.
