Ash Barton is a Grade II* listed West Country manor (date stone 1665). Surrounded by woodland, fields, gardens, wild flower meadows and lakes, the house also boasts a large open courtyard and a romantic old chapel in its grounds.
Providing breathtaking views and an immediate feeling of home-from-home, this Devon holiday home is perfect for family, children and friends. The property has 11/13 bedrooms and nine bathrooms.
Our large games barn with an indoor heated swimming pool will keep you entertained for hours on end. We are over a mile away from our nearest neighbour so we don’t have any curfews – perfect for your celebration party.
The spacious light interiors, range of media equipment and well equipped kitchens and bathrooms make it an easy place to come together with friends and family. Spend your summer evenings enjoying the full range of garden furniture and outdoor BBQ and magnificent fire-pit, and your winter evenings in the deep sofas surrounding the log burning stoves.
Ash Barton is licensed to hold wedding and civil ceremonies. We are ideal for family/friend breaks, special occasions and conferences/business meetings.
The property is fully equipped for your stay. Every bedroom and bathroom is supplied with crisp cotton bed linen and fresh white bathroom towels, constant hot water and centrally heated throughout. Both kitchens are fully equipped for every occasion with the main kitchen being superbly welcoming with an Aga and ample space for dining or just chilling on a sofa after a long walk! The main dining room is perfect for evening entertaining and for larger parties and has a fire place. In the evenings you can retire to the sitting room where you will find huge sumptuous sofas and a wood burner. There is a wide selection of media equipment as well as board games and even a piano!
The terrace can be enjoyed with a full range of garden furniture and BBQ, we also have an outdoor fire pit! There is ample supply of logs for the fire pit & wood burners.
Ash Barton is a very spacious, light and airy, yet robust property that is perfectly suitable for children, less able, family and friend gatherings or even to host a party or wedding. The games barn contains the indoor swimming pool as well as a huge play area. Equipped with full size snooker and pool tables, Table football, Badminton, Air hockey, Trampoline, basketball, games, bean bags and sofas making this the perfect party venue.
The house has a strict non smoking policy. Please use designated areas only.All linens and towels except pool/beach are provided. Optional daily cleaning, chef service & treatments available upon request.

Braunton
The village of Braunton is located just a few miles from the North Devon Golden Coast. Discover golden sandy beaches and safe bathing nearby at Saunton Sands, Croyde and Putsborough. A cottage holiday in this part of the West Country could be an excellent choice for families or for romantic breaks. This village offers excellent facilities with a range of pubs, cafes and restaurants. What’s more, it even has an award winning fish and chip shop. Braunton is well placed for discovering much of what this corner of Devon has to offer on a self-catering holiday.
Keen walkers should find a cottage stay in this village an excellent choice. The Tarka Trail can be joined in Braunton and guides walkers between the North Coast and Dartmoor. Exmoor National Park with its network of footpaths is also just around 15 miles away. Also nearby is the South West Coastal Path which connects Woolacombe, Ilfracombe,Lynton and Lynmouth. Other good walks in the area include Velator Quay and Crow Point which lead down to the Burrows and the sea at Saunton Sands. Saunton Sands is also an excellent place for bird watching so it is recommended that you bring your binoculars! For more stunning coastal scenery why not head to the North Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty?
The village has its own tourist information centre that you can visit for free leaflets and more hints and tips on things to see and do on the local area. If you want to get out and explore why not visit nearby Ilfracombe which is just 9 miles away. Ilfracombe has a pretty harbour, an excellent range of shops and is where the ferry terminal takes day trippers over to Lundy Island. For a taste of history why not visit the National Trust’s Arlington Court or Watersmeet?
