The Holiday Home: About Shepherd's Hut Barn, rural Dorset
Certain holiday cottages belie the magic within and the Shepherd’s Hut falls into that category. Set in farmland in the hamlet of Winterborne Whitechurch, not far from Blandford Forum in Dorset, this red brick and flint farm building has been converted into a charming rural retreat. The cottage features a large cathedral window in the open-plan living area on the upper floor which frames magnificent views over open fields. Because the living area is under the eaves, there are striking beams and lots of natural wood features. A wood burner keeps guests cosy and adds a certain ambience to the room.Fitted kitchen cupboards line the far end of the room and there is plenty of space for a kitchen table with chairs and benches that amply accommodates six people.
3 Bedrooms on the ground floor
This Blandford Forum holiday home can sleep a maximum of 6 people in its three ground floor bedrooms. The bedrooms are all fitted with pine furniture and are carpeted for warmth underfoot. The master bedroom has a large king-size bed, plus an en-suite shower room. Two twin bedrooms share the facilities of a shower room. A travel cot can be available on request. It is customary for guests to bring own baby bedding.
Pet-friendly rural cottage near Blandford Forum allows 2 dogs
This good quality holiday property allows up to two dogs and the rural area is ideal for walks directly from the cottage. Please be aware that this is farming country and dogs should be kept on leads.
The cottage has a large driveway and a small but pretty garden with a patio where guests can sit and enjoy relaxing or planning their trips in Dorset.
Blandford Forum is worth a visit and indeed everyone has their own interests which draw them to various places. Some holidaymakers like to enjoy walking around the small Dorset villages with unusual names such as Winterborne Stickland, Okeford Fitzpaine, Owerne Courtney or Tarrant Monkton and wonder their origins. Others look for the nearest pubs and continue their research at the bar.
Whatever your interests, this charming rural cottage in Winterborne Whitechurch could be a satisfying holiday home for a week or two and give you happy memories of your Dorset holiday.
