Mainly residential, this is another of Norfolk’s riverside towns, the River Chef flows through it and finding somewhere to stay near the river would be delightful. The town centre may not be the most extensive but would be adequate for most self-caterers. There is a fish and chip shop as well as restaurants along the hight street. Sometimes it is easier to go out for a meal after sightseeing in Norfolk, even if self-catering.

Both Norwich and Great Yarmouth are about 11 miles away if you begin to hanker after bustling places with more to see and do. The border with Suffolk is fairly close and Loddon is convenient for trips into Bungay and Beccles which are good to visit for a browse around antique shops.
