The cottage's two bedrooms include a double room and a twin room and both come with their own en-suite. The open-plan kitchen/dining area is ideal if you plan on staying in to eat while the cosy sitting room will keep you warm on chilly evenings, as it has its own multi-fuel stove. Longframlington
Surrounded by fields and pastures yet with the convenience of a local pub, shop and the A697 running through the village, Long Framlington in Coquetdale could be an ideal base for discovering some of the best that Northumberland has to offer on a cottage holiday.
For those who haven’t discovered what Northumbria has to offer for self-catering holidays yet, a real treat awaits. With a majestic landscape more akin to that of Scotland than England, Northumberland with its rich history, Hadrian’s Wall Country, Northumberland National Park, historical castles and gorgeous golden sandy beaches, just keeps on giving.
Places to Visit whilst on a Cottage Break in Long Framlington
• The Northumberland National Park with its stunning landscape and excellent walks is a joy to discover (take note though parking isn’t free at many of the tourist points of interest so do take plenty of change with you).
• Castle Visiting is a must in Northumbria and there are so many castles to visit that deciding which to put on your must-see list will be the only challenge. Some of our favourites include:
o Alnwick Castle (just 12 miles from Longframlington and located in the town of Alnwick), features beautiful gardens and a claim to fame of having featured in one of the Harry Potter films.
o The ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle (around 17 miles from Longframlington) are well worth a visit for the fine coastal views and invigorating walk you must take to reach it.
