This is a superb large Grade II listed self-catering country house near Dunster that is available to rent on a self-catering basis for amazing country house weekends and group holidays. Eight bedroom, eight bathroom, this impressive holiday house stands close to the Exmoor National Park about half-way between Minehead and Blue Anchor in north Somerset. The house can accommodate groups of up to twenty two people in a high degree of style and comfort. What wonderful reunions and family gatherings could take place here!The accommodation is arranged over three floors.
The house has passed through a series of incarnations and may well have been a hotel in a former period because there is still a reception desk in the entrance hall and a pub-like snug bar area with an inglenook fireplace, proper pumps and functioning optics. The dining room and two sitting rooms are oak panelled, the floors covered in traditional rugs, leather button back sofas abound and comfortable overstuffed armchairs. There are ancient oak beams on the ceiling and a sturdy woodburner shining a glow on social gatherings.
An impressive dining room contains several dining tables and there is ample cutlery and crockery for 22 place settings. There are more tables and seating for fourteen people in the conservatory and again, tables and chairs on the garden patio offer an outdoor space for parties and informal dining. This is a house with incredible potential for social events, club group holidays and more. Do please share this property with friends who belong to bird watching groups, walking clubs and similar groups.
A well equipped professional kitchen allows groups to cater for themselves. This has gas range cookers, a commercial dishwasher, two fridge freezers and the utensils once would expect to cook for such a large number of holidaymakers.
The house is both child and dog friendly. A cot and highchair is available by arrangement.

Things to see and do around Dunster
The cobbled streets of Dunster attract numerous tourists visiting its historic streets and ancient houses. The wild ponies of Exmoor are another draw; watch from a distance and photograph but do not approach. Take a group for a walk on the wild side or orienteering in Exmoor. The beaches of Blue Anchor and Minehead are also popular with summer visitors and there are plenty of restaurants, takeaways, pubs and tea rooms to discover.
