Wells

Known as the smallest city in England, Wells has plenty to see and do, including Wells Cathedral, The Bishops' Palace (surrounded by its own moat), and Vicar's Close. An open market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays in The Market Place.  Wells has all modrn conveniences, charm and some interesting shops, with plenty of resturants and pubs for eating out.

Wells is also host to one of the best illuminated carnivals, and is held in November.

Wells is located just outside of the Mendip Hills AONB and nearby you can visit Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Caves and Glastonbury, famous for the Glastonbury Festival held in June, and with Bath, Weston-Super-Mare and Longleat not too far away either you will find The Old Milking Parlour an ideal base for the West Country.
