The Holiday Home: About Riverside
Riverside is a spacious 3 bedroom detached cottage where you can be sure of a warm welcome, ready for you to make yourselves at home and enjoy your stay as soon as you arrive. Although extended and refurbished several years ago it retains lots of cottage character, beamed ceilings, solid wood floors, log burner and open fire yet the large kitchen diner has all modern appliances with patio doors that open onto the gravelled area then lawn which looks out over fields and farmland, where you may spot the shy roe deer or woodpeckers. A total of 23 different species spotted in the garden by one couple during their weeks stay.
Out and about there is a wide variety of options, walk the droves or along the canal tow path just opposite the cottage, drive to National Trust Properties. Barrington Court, Montacute House and Forde Abbey, or East Lambrook gardens, Hambridge Smokery and Burrow Hill cider farm, visit the Jurassic Coast, Farmers markets, The Fleet Air Museum at Yeovilton, shop for bargains at Clarkes village, the Somerset wetlands or Historic Bath, Glastonbury and Wells, calling back into the Barn Owl for supper, (less than a 100 yards) or relax at the cottage, open the sitting room French doors to sit under the covered patio and watch the wonderful sunsets and the sun go down, or if it is rather chilly curl up in front of the open fire
