If you are considering a summer break on the Isle of Anglesey, you may like to know about the lovely sheltered sandy beach at Lligwy which sits in a shallow bay. It is the perfect spot for a family seaside holiday, clean sands, rock pools to keep the children entertained for hours on end and one of the best fish and chip shops in Wales.
There are plenty of holiday cottages to choose from that are near Lligwy beach or nearby in the village of Moelfre. Most of the houses and bungalows have that coastal look with whitewashed walls and gardens stocked with shrubs. Families like to rent a holiday home with a garden where children can play safely outdoors.
The rural lanes leading from Lligwy Beach are perfect for cycling with sheep fields on either side of the road. Find a holiday rental that is close to the beach or in the village. The beach in Moelfre is shingle and not really suited to family seaside breaks if sand castles are planned, although it would suit anyone bringing dogs on holiday because they are permitted on the beach all year round.
