Although in an idyllic rural location, the charming market town of Biggar is just 5 miles away and the historic market town of Lanark is only 12 miles away. For holidaymakers who love to explore the great outdoors, there are great opportunities to enjoy a variety of activities including walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding and wildlife watching within a 25 mile radius of the property too.

Inside this 2 Bedroom Rural Retreat near Biggar
• Spacious lounge with warming woodburner, smart TV and comfy sofas. This room features superb country views out towards the Southern Upland Hills,
• Spacious, well equipped kitchen complete with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, ceramic hob and electric oven, washing machine, toaster, DAB radio and Tassimo coffee machine,
• A snug with wall mounted TV (with integrated DVD player) and Wii plus a few Wii games,
• A romantic bedroom with a king-size bed and beautiful country views (a full size fold-up bed is available for use in this room if required and needs to be requested at time of booking),
• A twin bedroom,
• Stylish bathroom with bath, shower cubicle, WC and basin.
This cottage sits within a well maintained, secure garden and also enjoys access to a small and secure woodland area, as well as a further fenced off area where children can play football. The children’s play area with swings within the garden makes this a truly appealing holiday home for families. Outdoor seating is provided so you can sit out and soak up this beautiful rural setting and watch the sun rise with a morning coffee, or the sunset with a glass of wine in the evening.
Parking is available for 2 cars. For guests with access needs, there is easy access into the cottage at the rear, with a gently sloping ramp leading from the car parking area.
This is an eco-friendly holiday home with heating provided via a renewable heat source via our own wind turbines and we enjoy our own water supply from our hill, so you can feel great about a stay here.

For those keen to explore this part of Scotland beyond there is lots to see and do in this area. Just 5 miles away is the attractive market town of Biggar with its independent shops, cafes, eateries and pubs. Slightly further afield 12 miles away, is the historical market town of Lanark, with its vibrant high street which also offers a good selection of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.Also close to Lanark is the World Heritage Site of New Lanark where you can visit a watermill where cotton was produced from the 18th century, and the small surrounding village. Also near to Lanark are the Falls of Clyde where there is a stunning waterfall and lovely woodland walks.
For those who enjoy hill walks, Scotland’s highest village Wanlockhead which lies on the Southern Upland Way is just 25 miles away and the Pentland Hills Regional Park where you can enjoy hiking, horse riding, cycling, walking and wildlife watching is just 20 minutes’ drive away.
It’s also possible to visit Scotland’s capital city of Edinburgh for day trips out which is only around an hour’s drive away.
