Brixworth is a charming village located in the heart of the English county of Northamptonshire, and there are several things to see and do here for if you and your loved ones are looking to reside in a quaint village on a self-catering cottage break. For walking, there are several trails close to the village that are excellent for trekking on or for going on relaxing strolls, such as the Brampton Valley Way which passes just west of the village. The Site of Special Scientific Interest, Pitsford Water, is another beautiful place to walk by. This reservoir is the third-largest in the UK and although the northern half is a nature reserve with an abundance of Kingfisher, Essex Skipper butterfly and other flora and fauna, the southern half is used for sailing and fishing. Another place of interest close by is the Brixworth Country Park, which includes a cycle hire shop for those wishing to go cycling in beautiful backdrops, a restaurant, picnic areas and play areas for children.
Brixworth is home to several shops, a couple of restaurants and other businesses, and you can stock up on food for the kitchen of your cottage at the small supermarket in the village. There are several cottages peppered throughout the settlement which are available to rent on a self-catering basis, where you can relax in privacy, cook your own meals and catch your favourite shows on television in the evenings. For day trips from Brixworth, the county town of Northampton is only 5 miles away, and 8 miles away is the lovely town of Market Harborough.
