The Holiday Home: About High Cloud
There are two high quality holiday homes at High Cloud; The Farmhouse and The Barn, both of which benefit from lovely country views. Originally the retreat of the famous explorer and adventurer Christina Dodwell, High Cloud is a very special place offering stylish and spacious accommodation throughout. The countryside views extend all the way to Sugarloaf Mountain and watching the sunset from the garden can be just magical. The large outdoor heated swimming pool is available for use in the summer months and the hot tub is available all year round. On days out discover the beautiful Brecon Beacons or the greenery of the Forest of Dean or simply kick back and relax in this stunning location. The Farmhouse has 4 bedrooms (2 family bedrooms, each with a double and 2 single beds, a double room and a twin bedroom). There is a shower room close to two bedrooms on the second floor plus two bathrooms on the first floor serving 2 bedrooms. There is also a ground floor WC. The Farmhouse is fully equipped and fully self-contained to house 12 people with lounge and kitchen /diner.
The Barn is laid out on one floor and is fully accessible to wheelchairs via a ramp and houses 6 bedrooms (2 doubles and 4 twins with 3 showers, and 5 WCs). The Barn is fully accessible, all one level, accessed by ramp and features and wide doors. The Barn is similarly equipped to the Farmhouse and also sleeps 12 but has ample seating and dining facilities for all 24 guests. There are 2 fully equipped kitchens in the Barn. The whole layout provides excellent flexibility, perfect if you have a group where some people like things a little quieter and some a little more lively. For a party setting the Barn is hard to beat with masses of windows and doors to the gardens. Children's facilities include masses of outdoor play space and cycles welcomed! There is a large Games room with table football and table tennis and pool which is ideal for rainy days. Some toys are available plus 2 high chairs and 2 travel cots.
Outside, and with a glorious view is a tempting undercover hot tub which takes 8 people. There are wonderful walks in the grounds, woods and orchards plus a sports play area and walking / running track. Garden seating is available so you can soak up the lovely rural setting.
The swimming pool (5m x 10m, shelving to 2.5m) is directly outside the Farmhouse overlooking Raglan Castle, and is heated in summer. It is hard to imagine a finer location to relax. Plenty of space for parking is available outside the Farmhouse and Barn and on forecourts and hard standing - easily takes 12+ vehicles.
Mobile signal good for all networks, no Broadband only mobile networks - ok for tablet phones but laptops may need usb dongle for internet connection.
Well behaved dogs are welcome, though beware livestock in nearby fields.
