Cefn Y Waun is a wonderful rural retreat, located by Hay Forest in Powys. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard, this is a fantastic location for a relaxing country holiday. Peace and tranquillity are guaranteed in this part of Wales as this cottage is situated amongst 200 acres of privately owned woodlands, which guests are free to explore during their stay. Located right by the Black Mountains, Cefn Y Waun has some fabulous countryside views and is well situated for exploring the Radnorshire Hills and the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Also nearby is the town of Hay on Wye, renowned for its bookshops and independent shops. There is a great choice of pubs and restaurants available should you wish to eat out as well as in.

Recently added in 2015 is a lovely relaxing log fired cedar hot tub. Positioned to the front of the cottage, this is a perfect place to lie back, relax and soak up fabulous views of the Black Mountains. The hot tub is available for just £49.95 per visit.
                                                                                   
Once booked, the hot tub will be prepared for you and ready for your arrival. We don’t use nasty chemicals and instead our tub is cleaned with fresh water which is changed for each guest. The booking fee includes three crates of wood and a crate of kindling which is enough to get the hot tub to a warm lovely temperature and to provide a further use the next day. Additional crates of wood can be purchased at £10 a crate. How much wood you will need depends on how many times you plan to use the tub and the length of time between each use. There is an insulated cover which goes over the top of the tub and helps to keep the water warm when not in use.

After days out exploring the beautiful Welsh countryside, Cefn Y Waun is a great place to return to for a relaxing soak in the deep bathtub or to relax with a glass of wine in front of the wood burning stove in the lounge. Reached via two long forestry tracks, high in the woods, you can truly relax at this rural hideaway.

On the ground floor there is a comfortable lounge with warming wood-burning stove and comfy sofa and chairs plus a kitchen with handmade units, mod cons and a dining table with chairs. Upstairs there are two attractive bedrooms, one double and one twin bedroom, both featuring good quality linen. Also on this floor is the family bathroom with bath, hand held shower, WC and hand basin.

Electricity and oil heating is included in the price. Logs are charged at £30 per load, which is usually sufficient for a long weekend stay in winter.
