Many holiday homes are strictly functional with few really homely touches. This property in Ruabon near Llangollen in Wales is very different and has every appearance of being a real comfortable home. It could be your ‘home from home’ this year if you can get a group of up to eleven together.

The house is a substantial five bedroom red brick property with a front and back garden. In the back garden is a semi-covered heated outdoor swimming pool that would be brilliant for family fun on sunny days. There is over an acre of garden and woodland and its very own stream trickling through. The patio is equipped for family parties and get-togethers. There is a barbecue, plenty of seating, recliners, a hammock and even a sauna. An extended family could have a whale of time here.

The sitting room is nicely square and furnished with squashy leather sofas in tan and cream to complement the natural colours of the room. A 50in TV allows guests to keep up-to-date with their favourite programmes on holiday and there are Sky movies to watch. A full-size snooker table stands in pride of place in the Games room.

Prepare sumptuous breakfasts and salads for the barbeque in the country-style oak fitted galley kitchen. Two freezers offer lots of storage for enough holiday food to keep this house party going with a swing. As one would expect in a good quality home, there is a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and lots of other gadgets.

An elegant contemporary dining table with leather high backed chairs seats 8 in the dining room. Another table in the breakfast room seats five people. There could be a little re-arranging of chairs to accommodate eleven around the big table, especially if some were children.

Of the five bedrooms, two have super king-size beds, two have king-size beds and the fifth twin bedroom has single beds plus a pull out bed. There is one en-suite shower room, a bathroom with a shower cubicle and corner bath, and a shower room which incorporates a sauna. There are two additional showers in the pool-side changing block.

Survey the photographs and you will see that this house is amazing as a large family holiday home in Wales. This house could appeal to people from the Midlands, other parts of Wales or north west England because of the shorter journey involved in getting there. However, it is so appealing that suitable family groups from anywhere may just opt to travel that bit further to stay in such a super holiday cottage and enjoy the Welsh Countryside. There are lots of places to visit from this cottage near Llangollen; Chester, half an hour’s drive away is highly recommended for a day out, exploring its Roman ruins, shopping in the magnificent olde worlde high street and riverside walks or restaurants. The north Wales coast and Snowdonia are all within reach.
