Self-catering holiday accommodation and country cottages in Burnham-on-Crouch
Burnham is a coastal town that attracts many local people from nearby villages on a sunny Sunday afternoon. A purpose built walkway along the Crouch Estuary provides traffic free and safe walking conditions with good views of the water and boats. Pubs, restaurants and tea rooms lie in between the many historic listed buildings edging the walkway. This is where you will find the yacht club, ships chandlers, boat yards, pubs and various businesses which depend on the waterfront.
The pedestrianised walkway with tables outside one of the pubs. Perfect for Sunday lunch.
Boat trips are available during the summer months. |
There are some excellent examples of picturesque clapboard buildings in Burnham.
Sweetings Fish Supplies were established in the early 19th century and operated from this well preserved building.
Once famous for its shellfish, these can still be purchased fresh from the sea on the quay-side.
