The Ludlow Festival of Food and Drink is on during the second week of September. Ludlow has no fewer than 4 Michelin star rated restaurants and has established itself on the gastronomic map as a centre of culinary excellence. Visit the festival to sample the wares of independent food and drink companies. There is also the Kington Show which is the biggest agricultural show of the area on that weekend with Parachute Jumps, Dare Devil Bike riding and all the usual stock and tractor contests. September can be a great time of year to enjoy a walking holiday with rainfall lower than in the later Autumn months and a higher average temperature than late Autumn. Exploring the UK in the sunshine can really lift the spirits and taking a hike or a leisurely stroll can be super easy with so many paths criss-crossing the countryside and a great number of national trails to amble along in Britain.
