Things to See and Do on a Cottage Break in Clacton on Sea

•    Clacton on Sea has a vibrant pier with a huge variety of entertainment including rides for young kids, ten pin bowling, adventure golf, soft play and a restaurant,

•    Clacton has a lovely sandy beach with broad golden sands that stretches on and on.  The beach is ideal for kids enjoying themselves with a bucket and spade in the sand,

•    Clacton is also home to some good cafes, bars and restaurants (including some with sea views), as well as the usual ice cream shops, tea shops, and cafes,

•    Clacton’s beach is best for being near the pier, cafes and bars,

•    If you prefer a more scenic spot with even nicer sand then head up to Martello Beach (this is another stretch of beach around one mile from Clacton and is so named because it’s right next to a historic Martello),

•    If you like to be entertained, there are two theatres in Clacton; West Cliff Theatre and Princes Theatre, with various shows on throughout the year,

•    If you are feeling energetic, there is a coastal promenade all the way from Clacton up to Jaywick Sands.  Jaywick itself is known to be a deprived area so some prefer to avoid it, but is said to be up and coming, with a lot of investment going in to the area.
