The small village of Deene can be found towards the north of the county of Northamptonshire, close to the settlements of Bulwick and Deenethorpe, 6 miles north east of Corby. There are few amenities in Deene, although the Priors Hall Golf Club is only 2 miles or a 6 minute drive away, as are a couple of woodlands to explore. The main draw to Deene, however, is the beautiful Deene Park, a medieval manor house set in stunning gardens which are open to the public in the summer months.
Deane Park has been occupied by the Brudenell family since way back in 1514, and visitors can explore the many different rooms dating from different periods of time which include furniture and memorabilia, with family portraits adorning the walls. There are 15 rooms open to the public including the impressive Great Hall, the pretty Drawing Room and the Tapestry Room which dates from the Tudor era, and the gardens are also beautiful to stroll around, with pretty roses and lots of seating areas to soak up this atmosphere. To round off your trip, there is a shop and a delightful tearoom serving yummy cakes and scones.
Renting a self-catering cottage in or around Deene is a great way to explore Deene Park, using your accommodation as a base. Your cottage will come with everything you need, from great kitchens to cosy living rooms and bedrooms, and are lovely to reside in for a relaxing holiday in a tranquil part of Northamptonshire.
