The stone circle, which is partially restored, is currently known as the Nine Maidens, though there are in fact 11 stones in the circle, nine of which are standing and two of which have fallen. Due to the even spacing between the surviving stones and the size of the circle, it’s widely thought that there were originally 22 stones. To date, no one knows the exact purpose of the stone circle, though some believe it was created for ceremonial purposes.

This key attraction is within walking distance of Boskednan - it should take you about 20 minutes or so to reach it. A bit closer to the hamlet is Mên-an-Tol, a small formation of three granite stones thought to date back to the Neolithic/Stone Age periods.
