Looe is an estuary town that is divided into East and West Looe by the river that is also called Looe and connected by a 19th century seven arched bridge. Houses, hotels, self catering cottages and B&Bs rise up the steep hillsides above the harbour creating a picturesque scene based around the boats in the fishing harbour.
Looe Island lies a mile off the coast and offers a natural salt water swimming pool and two good beaches. Access is by boat. There are is a sandy beach at East Looe for family seaside fun.

This area makes a good base for holidaymakers exploring Cornwall, perhaps planning to walk the coastal path or hoping to take in a spot of fishing. Looe beach is generously broad and sandy making it attractive to families with young children. There are boat trips and the chance to hire a boat and explore the coast independently.
East Looe is separated from West Looe by the river. There is a bridge that connects both parts.
