Prestatyn is a lovely unspolit seaside resort in north Wales, just three or four miles east of Rhyl. Where Rhyl is commercial with all the 'fun of the fair', Prestatyn has miles of clean sandy beach and minimal commercial entertainment for children. There is a promenade and a large concrete seating area near the play park and amenities.

Offa's Dyke footpath ends at Prestatyn and follows the western boundary of the ancient kingdom of King Offa of Mercia, all the way down to Knighton, 177 miles south.
