What Rutland Water Offers Holidaymakers

Rutland Water is very popular with lovers of the great outdoors.  Rutland Water Park covers an area of over 4000 acres of countryside and there are opportunities to fish, walk, cycle and even try out watersports (there is a sailing club and fishing lodge at Rutland Water, certain activities though need to be booked and charges apply).

Nature lovers will also be in their element as there is a nature reserve at Rutland Water; Lyndon Nature Reserve, which is home to the Rutland Osprey project, where you may be able to see nesting ospreys (site open from mid March to end of October).

The Anglian Water Birdwatching Centre is also found at Egleton where there are a number of handy hides for birdwatching.

There are a number of car parks dotted around the reservoir.

Whether you enjoy relaxing walks, bike rides, wildlife watching, fishing or watersports, Rutland Water has a host of activities and experiences to discover on a cottage holiday.  For ease of access it may make sense to rent a holiday cottage or lodge within a half hour drive of Rutland Water.
