5 Bedroom Pet-Friendly Holiday House with Sauna in Aberdeenshire by River Dee

The Boat House, south west of the city of Aberdeen, is in the up-market district of Peterculter. The build is of granite as are most detached properties in the area. A long driveway leads to the house which stands enclosed by a granite wall. It’s a large house with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms, perfect for a large family or group of nine friends.  The gardens of the property lead down to the River Dee which arises in the Cairngorms and flows through stunning Scottish landscapes out to the sea at Aberdeen.

The accommodation is superb. Open arches have replaced doorways and allow views from one room to another downstairs. There is a feeling of open-plan spaciousness without actually being that. Polished wooden floors and neutral walls assist the feeling of flow from room to room, each is of a very high standard and stylishly furnished.

The main sitting room is huge. Large comfy sofas are spread out around the room facing the T.V. Another smaller sitting room is more formally furnished with upright button backed upholstered chairs and sofas, then the third living area is a sun room with a woodburner, table football, big bean bag seats on the floor and sun loungers. This is definitely the chill out area.

A long dining table can be set for ten people and is super for a large group on holiday. Eat together, live together and laugh together. The dining area leads on to the very smart white kitchen. Store food for meals and snacks away in the fridge freezer. The kitchen cupboards contain all the crockery, glasses and cutlery that you will need. Kitchen tools hang on a rack on the wall and saucepans await your culinary plans. Find a coffee maker to percolate your morning coffee and a microwave to heat up milk for lattes or hot chocolate. Holidays are all about indulgence and having a good time and it’s all within your control – you just have to make it happen; the kitchen is equipped for it. A dishwasher is there to hide and clean all used meal items. A generously sized utility room houses the washing machine, dryer and airer which will help keep everyone’s clothes clean and up-to-date.

This holiday home on the banks of the River Dee in Aberdeenshire is as good as it gets. A sauna is another most welcome facility in the house. A ground floor shower room and a cloakroom complete the facilities on this floor.

All five bedrooms are on the 1st floor. Each is tastefully furnished and decorated in sleep inducing pale tones. The largest of these, the master bedroom, has an en-suite shower for two and its balcony overlooks the gardens with views down to the river and beyond.

The second double bedroom also has its own en-suite shower room but no balcony.

Two additional equally attractive, albeit smaller double bedrooms and a single bedroom complete the bedding arrangements.  A family bathroom has a bath and shower attachment for rinsing hair. Towels are all provided, beds are made up with quality bedlinen.

On summer evenings, relax in the back garden and enjoy conversation with your fellow guests. It’s another lovely place to sit with plenty of garden chairs and a table.  The big lawns offer a good play area for any children. Admire the rhododendrons in spring.  Pets are welcome.

This is a fabulous holiday home in a very good part of Aberdeenshire, well situated for days out in Aberdeen, Royal Deeside, the Cairngorms and the amazing coast. There is so much to see and do in this part of Scotland to suit all ages – it really is a wonderful opportunity for a discerning family.
