Elgin is a charming former cathedral city located in Morayshire in Scotland. This quaint town has a lot of history and is home to the historic ruins of the 13th century Elgin Cathedral which is set in simply stunning and picturesque surroundings, and is a fascinating place to see when renting a country cottage for a break here. There are plenty of other things to see and do in Elgin including taking a visit to the Elgin Museum, Scotland’s oldest independent museum and home to local and worldwide artefacts.
