This is a great base for discovering some of the best of Perthshire and beyond on a couple's holiday.  At nearby Blairgowrie you can watch salmon leap up stream in season and enjoy lovely riverside and woodland walks.  Also close by is the historic town of Kirriemuir which is renowned for its winding narrow streets and for being home to the author of Peter Pan.  Drive through Glenisla and you will arrive at the dramatic mountain scenery of Glenshee, an area popular for hiking, walking and even skiing in season and known as the Gateway to the Highlands.  More great walks can be enjoyed in the Angus Glens where you can discover glens, lochs and heather clad hills. 

Around half an hour's drive away is the Cairngorms National Park with its stunning natural beauty and the bustling town of Pitlochry with its many whisky distilleries is within an hour's drive.
