A beautiful mellow 3 bedroom holiday cottage of stone and oak stands in an elevated position on a hillside near Dolau, a small settlement in between Knighton and Llandrindod Wells. The cottage has three bedrooms and sleeps up to 8 in conjunction with a sofa bed.

This countryside in this part of Wales is outstanding, The Elan Valley is famous for its fantastic views. This is the rural escape that people long for where they can enjoy rambles in beautiful scenery, pony trekking, mountain biking and slow country drives.

This dog-welcome holiday home for 8 is equally lovely inside. The big open-plan kitchen with its range cooker and spacious dining area is arguably the highlight of the cottage; the wealth of exposed wooden beams, oak kitchen and big table would delight everyone.

The wood floored sitting room with a log burner is smart and also features numerous oak beams and country flavour. A piano could be a welcome feature for a touch of carol singing at Christmas or just for a bit of personal pleasure.

Guests planning to book a summer break may wish to note that an annual Victorian Festival is held in Llandrindod Wells during the third week of August. Participants get dressed up in the clothing of Victorian times and Hold a series of events, many such the male voice choir, Welsh in nature. There is a Grand Ball so do bring Victorian glad-rags on holiday with you.

Knighton is a small friendly town that is also worth a visit. Walk part of the Offa’s Dyke footpath and pop into the Visitor Centre. An electronic figure near the entrance frightens small children out of their wits, so beware!
