It is sometimes said that good things come in small packages and that could well be true of this holiday pod near Rhayader in mid Wales. This holiday pod is much like a miniature log cabin, with a decked terrace outside where guests would find a table with two chairs and a hot tub. This compact holiday home stands in a paddock surrounded by beautiful countryside. There is no light pollution here so the stars shine very clearly at night.

Step inside the pod to find a cosy wood lined room that has a mini fitted kitchen with the smallest fridge freezer you have ever seen, an electric hob and microwave, a table for two, a sofa, smart TV and the double bed. Full scale cooking is not on the agenda, perhaps you would dine out during the day as you explore the area or stick a ready meal in the microwave?

Although private and secluded, you are not cut off from the rest of the world because there is Wi-Fi that will allow you to communicate, watch films on a tablet and talk to your friends. A door leads to a compact shower room with a wash basin and toilet.

A stay in a pod could be the new romantic experience but you have been looking for. Mid Wales is very scenic and there is plenty to do. There are walks from the door but if you are looking for a little more entertainment there is a falconry centre nearby and the stunning Elan valley for a day out. There are nature reserves north and south of this location which would please bird watchers and nature lovers. The town of Rhayader has riverside walks beside the Wye, a museum, tea shop and an Indian restaurant.
