The town of Killorglin which overlooks the River Laune is 5 minutes by car from this comfortable holiday house.  This is a hot spot for keen anglers, as there is a run of salmon and trout for fishing here throughout the year, as well as a good run in spring.  Other top spots for fishing locally are Cromane and Caragh river by Carragh Lake which is well known for salmon and trout fishing.

With beautiful clear waters and shallow areas, Lough Lene is a paradise for anglers. Fish here include wild brown trout, pike and rainbow trout. The best time of year to fish for trout tends to be March and April although you can fish for pike at any time of year. Lough Lene is renowned for excellent fly fishing opportunities. With a stay in a cosy Irish holiday home you can fish from the shore or take a boat out, the choice is yours.

Keen anglers may opt to spend many a happy day fishing whilst holidaying in this part of Ireland but should you wish to try your hand at some other activities, golfing and horse riding are on offer locally.

Our six beautiful Holiday Cottages are converted barns on the edge of Blithfield Reservoir - a 750 acre lake for fishing holidays in the heart of the lovely Staffordshire countryside.

We are 2 miles from the ancient village of ABBOTS BROMLEY, famous for it's annual Horn Dance which is performed here every September as it has been for the past hundreds of years. It also has 5 Pubs most of which serve excellent food.

The cottages vary in size and accommodation but all have been converted and furnished to the same excellent standard which has led to us being awarded 4 stars by the English Tourism Council. All cottages have wooden floors, oak beams, Fully fitted kitchens complete with dishwashers and the majority of bedrooms are en-suite. They also have private patios overlooking the reservoir with its abundance of wildlife, along with communal lawns there is a field for ballgames and a children’s play area. All our cottages are strickly No Smoking and are only suitable for Easy Walking Access. Also, dogs are welcome in two of our cottages - Widgeon and Swallow.

Look out for the buzzards or kites flying over head and listen to the little owls at night. You will have great views of the surrounding hills and natural woodlands that shelter this private valley. The Lodge is made from solid pine timbers with open plan ground floor, kitchen, living area and dining area, ptr shower area and toilet. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, washing machine, gas hob and electric oven. The living area has Sky television with video and CD radio.

Upstairs, the pine lodge has a double bathroom en-suite and a twin room.

Hire our 4-person hot tub to unwind in secluded surroundings. Adults only. The hot tub is up at the main farm house (50 yards) on a private sun trap patio with table and chairs, plus a gas barbecue.

Guests are welcome to explore the farm and take in the stunning views of Radnor Forest, the Brecon Beacons, the Black Mountains and even the Malverns on a clear day. We have a pool which is well stocked with brown trout, and fly fishing is available at a daily rate. Coarse fishing is available at the nearby Pen-y-Clawdd Pools.

All accommodation on the farm is non-smoking. Sorry no pets as we are a working farm.
