Clacton-on-Sea is a an ideal location for seaside holidays in Essex.  The mud flats of southern coastal Essex are gradually replaced by broad golden sands in Clacton and further north.There are amusements for families at the resort, and  the usual ice cream shops, tea shops, cafes and pubs to provide continuous refreshments for visitors.This is ideal bucket and spade time when the children can amuse themselves in the sand.  For a little variety, you may wish to pop over into Colchester or Constable Country, Southend-on-Sea with its longest pier in Britain, or visit picturesque Suffolk.
