A good bakery half-way down the hill attracts a stream of people who park on the pavements. There is a car park in the village but the locals have a tradition of parking on the pavement. Heavy good vehicles driving through Goudhurst block the road on a daily basis. The turning by the church is too tight and with no means of stopping oncoming vehicles, lorries reversing back down the hill causing gridlock is a regular feature.
