Lowdham is a tiny village on the north road (A6097) out of Bingham in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands. It is mainly residential, a pleasant place to live surrounded by green fields. It is also on the railway line to Nottingham which makes it commuter country. A couple of miles down the road is Gunthorpe Bridge over the Trent, where people like to take riverside walks on Sunday afternoons and stop for lunch at the pub overlooking the water. Not a holiday destination as such, it would be an attractive place to stay for a few days.
