Thw former Duchy capital, Lostwithiel, lies about 5.5 miles south of Bodmin in Cornwall. It is a land locked location surrounded by pleasant wooded countryside in the River Fowey Valley and a shortish drive to the sea. There is a good selection of good pubs and restaurants for meals out and lots of antique shops and galleries for browsing. The town boasts plenty of flower beds and floral displays making it attractive to visit during the spring and summer months.
