What Monmouth offers for Cottage Breaks
Monmouth has plenty to offer visitors taking a cottage holiday including countless shops, both high street and independent boutiques, which line the historical Monnow Street. This street used to be where the town’s market would be held and today is the central point of the settlement. There are also various pubs, restaurants and cafes here for when you get peckish and want to sample some of the local delicacies of this part of Wales.
There are a number of interesting things to see whilst on a self-catering holiday in Monmouth, including the historical and traditional theatre, the Savoy. Located on Church Street, the Savoy Theatre today doubles up as a cinema and a Grade II listed building, believed to be the oldest working theatre in all of Wales. Seeing a performance here will both be entertaining and educational as you sit back and watch a show in a theatre that dates back nearly two hundred years old.
