Walking holidays in Suffolk


The delightful thing about East Anglia, at least for the walker, is the gentle hills! A quiet country lane is never far away so you can enjoy the peaceful roads and landscapes as you make steady progress towards your destination. Whether that be Beccles to spend a while by the River Waveney, the fine Cathedral City of Norwich, the Castle at Framlingham or wherever takes your fancy! Find a comfortable cottage with loads of character and  just a short walk from the mile of beach which stretches from the newly extended pier to the harbour. The beach varies from season to season, sometimes shingle sometimes sand. The pier end has traditional beach huts and promenade while the harbour end has a wide expanse of beach backed by sand dunes ideal for picnics and sunbathing. You can also take the small row boat ferry across the river to Walberswick and enjoy the beach there.  Walberswick is the site of the annual crabbing competition.  This cottage has the optional advantage of its own beach hut.
