Nettlestone is a hamlet north of Bembridge on the eastern coast of the Isle of Wight. Jointly with Seaview it comprises the parish of Nettlestone and Seaviw and dates back to around 1086 AD according to the Domesday Book. A long stretch of sandy beach awaits holidaymakers. The countryside is lovely inland - a place to spot red squirrels and the plentiful bird life. The Isle of Wight generally is a very good self-catering holiday destination for families. Bring buckets and spades, binoculars and if driving, childrens bicycles and enjoy a most relaxing holiday in Nettlestone. There are plenty of places to visit in sunny and wet weather (this is England), Carisbrooke Castle, Osborne House, the several National Trust attractions, animal parks and much more. The island is just over 20 miles wide so that it is easy to get from one point to another. Think of it as one large theme park.
