The county of Derbyshire is in a central belt of England called the Midlands. It is most fortunate to contain the Peak District National Park and some of the most attractive places to live. A taste of village life for a few days holiday may appeal to city dwellers and offer a relaxed pace of life and friendly villagers who wish you ‘good morning’.
The ancient villages were not built with cars in mind, houses often stand up to the pavement alongside the road and do not have driveways or garages. Holiday lettings in the centre of lovely old villages may or may not have somewhere to park close to the property. They do have the advantage of being at the heart of a village, close to a pub, shop, cycle hire or restaurant and provide that authentic Derbyshire experience.
Holiday letting durations
Each holiday letting can be reserved for a period of three days or more, or rented by the week. Weekend breaks begin at three or four pm on a Friday afternoon and finish by ten or eleven on Monday morning. The properties are completely furnished with almost everything required for a break in Derbyshire. All you need to bring are clothes and shoes for all weathers, walking boots and any food or drink that you would like to eat on that first evening. Most holiday lets have a starter pack of tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits.
Book a break and before you know it, you can be enjoying the delights of a Derbyshire village, popping down to the bakery for warm bread and enjoying a pint at the pub in the evening.
