This house has everything you need for self-catering with toddlers & babies
Good quality 5 bedroom holiday chalet which is situated in a pleasant cul-de-sac with its own private garden. With views from the back of the property over the Kent fields, from this tranquil location on a good day you can look out and catch a glimpse of Dover’s white cliffs. This is a fantastic location for those with kids as New Romney station, model railway and café is just a short walk from the house. In fact the trains run past the garden fence to the side which is sure to get your kids intrigued and playfully saying ‘Choo Choo’ on a holiday here. The enclosed garden has a sunny terraced area, a small area of lawn, and a 'secret garden' under a weeping willow, with a wooden wendy house and a swing. From the garden you have a good view of the trains, railway and engine shed.
We have tried to make the house feel like a home for our visitors, and provide a selection of books, games, toys, dvds and videos for your enjoyment. Children are welcome, and to help make your packing easier we provide a travel cot (you will need to bring your own bedding for this), high chair with safety straps, stair gates for top and bottom of stairs, potty, changing mat, socket covers, plastic cups, plates and cutlery. Beautiful family house for self-catering in the Sussex countryside
Holme Street House is a picturesque Grade 2 listed Georgian farmhouse, set in 10 acres of land. It has four bedrooms and can sleep eight to ten people - perfect for family groups. The house is well equipped and beautifully furnished, having been our family home. The house is well stocked with family games and toys, and a large and varied selection of books for our visitors' use. It is peaceful and secluded, with views to the front over its own pastureland, and to the side and rear over delightful gardens. The tended gardens are a particular feature of the property, and extend to over 2 acres. They contain lawns, several different sitting areas, herb and vegetable gardens, orchard, Wendyhouse, and outdoor heated swimming pool (May - Sept approx) and changing room area. The pool is in its own separate walled area which can be closed off for safety. The field, sometimes grazed by sheep, can be walked in and leads to a small lake. The village of Pulborough is a 15 minute walk along the lane or through the field, and has excellent local shops. There are also 2 supermarkets within a 5 minute drive.
The house is spacious and comfortable, with many original features. The large entrance hall and kitchen/breakfast room have original York stone flooring. The farmhouse-style kitchen is very well equipped, with AGA, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, sitting area with rocking chair, CD/radio and breakfast table. The sitting room is tranquil, with an open fire (logs provided), baby grand piano, CD/tape/radio and french door to garden. The dining room is a beautiful beamed room with seating for 12 around the large oak dining table. The family room is light and airy with wood floor, comfortable chairs, TV/video/DVD player, sturdy full sized football table, woodburning stove (logs provided) and double sofa bed. It also has french doors to the patio area, which contains a table and seating, and catches the setting sun beautifully. Downstairs there is also a walk in larder, and a cloakroom. Please note: due to age, the stone floors are somewhat uneven, and the washing machine is in the cellar down stone steps, which are reached through a door in the hallway. Upstairs, there are four good sized bedrooms, all with lovely views over the gardens - all very comfortably furnished. Two of the rooms have double beds, one with ensuite bathroom with WC, basin, bidet and bath with shower over. There are lovely views across the field from the bath! The other double room has a wash basin. The two twin rooms both have zip and link twin beds, which can be zipped together to make 6 foot doubles. One of these rooms also has a wash basin.
