Reserve a warm pine lodge for a holiday in the Scottish Borders. Make sure that it’s pet-friendly and you will be able to take your dogs with you as long as they match the pet criteria (number, breed, good behaviour).
Dog owners tend to prefer holidays and especially short breaks not too far from their own residence. No one likes to drive lengthy distances with dogs in the back, so that border country suits people who normally live in southern Scotland and northern England.
All of the pet-friendly self-catering lodges and cabins shown are reliably comfortable and of a good standard. Please contact the accommodation owners to make a reservation. Advance bookings can be made by paying a deposit. Any bookings taken up within the next couple of months will have to be paid in full. There may be a surcharge for dogs depending on which pine lodge is selected.
A holiday in the Borders offers good opportunities for country walks, a spot of fishing or golfing. Pine lodges are often found standing on the edge of lakes or close to rivers for fishing or golf courses. The River Tweed is a favourite fishing destination. Border country skirts the Keilderhead National Nature Reserve and the Northumberland National Park. These are fantastic areas for mountain biking and long treks with dogs. You may want to visit some of the ancient castles that were the sites of long-forgotten border skirmishes, or the various small towns such as Peebles, Galashiels, Selkirk or Coldstream.
Coastal pet-friendly lodges in the Borders
Perhaps you might prefer to rent a pine lodge closer to the coast at St. Abbs, Eyemouth or Burnmouth. People like to walk their dogs on the sands. Eyemouth has a beach beside the harbour. St Abbs has a former fishing harbour and good cliff-top walks.
Irrespective of where in the Borders you choose to book a pet-friendly log cabin or pine lodge, you will find great places to explore and good views to admire. Self-catering is the best type of holiday if you own dogs.
