Beadnell also benefits from an excellent location on Northumberland’s coastline, conveniently just 2 miles from Seahouses where boat trips operate to the Farne Islands to see local wildlife such as seals.  Further up the coast discover gems such as Bamburgh Castle, one of Northumbria’s top attractions and Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island which can only be accessed by boat or by tidal causeway by car.  Stay safe if driving, do your research and check tide times carefully to avoid getting washed away en route.  Holy Island is a special place, highly recommended for a visit where the National Trust’s Lindisfarne Castle towers high above the village. 

South of Beadnell are attractions such as the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle, the quaint village of Craster and the popular beach at Boulmer.  Further south from here is Warkworth with its charming historical streets.  Inland, within a 20 mile drive you can be amongst the stunning scenery of the Northumberland National Park which is a great place to visit on a cottage break.  Take note though, the car parks for accessing the park are not free so do remember to bring plenty of change if visiting.
